The Children’s Festival is going VIRTUAL! Due to the effects of COVID-19, this in-person event has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind online event that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home. Create your own paper flower event decor with members of our production team, enjoy a quick storytelling activity led by our education team and enjoy Thumbelina Kamishibai (a form of Japanese storytelling) created by award-winning director and playwright, Natsu Onoda Power. The fun doesn’t stop there! Go on a scavenger hunt with Kids Move and Learn, try some taekwondo moves with Team Yoo Taekwondo, and decorate flower and sunshine cookies with The Red Bandana Bakery. A dance party and raffle will round out the special occasion. So throw on your best garden party attire and join us for this larger than life event!
We hope you will consider supporting our mission during these unprecedented times with a suggested donation of $25. No donation is required but advance RSVP is recommended.
You can also join us at the 40th Anniversary sponsor level ($400) to receive your very own “Children’s Festival in a Box!” The box will include all the supplies you’ll need to make your Virtual Children’s Festival experience even more memorable, and will be delivered to your home prior to the event. [Limit: Ten (10). Must live in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia to qualify for a box. All 40th Anniversary sponsorships must be purchased by noon Wednesday, June 24.] Additionally, at the 40th Anniversary level, you will receive access to an exclusive Zoom watch party, where you will be able to enjoy the virtual event alongside the Children’s Fest Host Committee Members and Event Sponsors.
Proceeds from this event will help us continue our mission to empower ALL young people to discover their voices and identities through performing arts education and professional theatre. For the past 40 years, we are proud to have empowered 1.5 million young people and their families through theatre performance and education experiences.
