INTERNSHIPS

Imagination Stage accepts unpaid interns on a rolling basis. While we are currently recruiting for the specific internship below, we also accept applications at all times for general internships based on applicants’ career goals and skills.

Imagination Stage is committed to diversity both on stage and off and we strongly encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply. 

 

DEVELOPMENT INTERN-GRANTS

 

TASKS

    • Search grant guidelines for required attachments, such as marketing materials, financial information, and IRS documents.

       

    • Review with Development Manager need for  “non-standard” documents, such as budget information reported in a manner specific to the potential funder, program lesson plans, survey data, vendor bids, or video samples to determine plan for obtaining necessary materials.

       

    • Assist in obtaining non-standard items and formatting as necessary.

       

    • Ensure that documents that expire quickly, such as Clean Hands certificate and Statement of —Certification (both from DC government), are updated in time for grant deadlines.

       

    • Collect current PDF versions of often-requested materials, such as the season brochure, class brochure, annual report, Theatre Arts Integration Guide.  Obtain updated materials as necessary.

       

    • Create single PDF, with tailored cover sheet, of the specific documents required by the particular grant.

       

    • Upload non-narrative materials to grant portal, online form, or other applicable delivery method. 

 

CRITERIA
Those interested in applying to intern must meet the following criteria

  • Be at least 15 years old

  • Completing the internship for school credit

  • Able to work over the course of a full semester (or full Summer holiday)


SCHEDULE

Must commit to a minimum of two hours per week.


HOUSING

Imagination Stage does not provide housing for interns at this time.

I. ONLINE APPLICATION

The link to the Imagination Stage Internship Online Application can be found at the bottom of this Page. The Online Application is intended to be filled out in its entirety.

 

Section I of the Online Application is information about yourself

Section II of the Online Application is where you will upload your additional documents outlined below

 

II. COVER LETTER

To be submitted with your online application (Section II), you must submit a cover letter stating  your interest in theatre and what you would like to learn from this internship with Imagination Stage.

 

III. RESUME OR LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

A resume or letter of recommendation must be submitted. While it is helpful if you are able to submit your resume or letter of recommendation when you submit your online application & cover letter,  if you are unable to submit your resume or letter of recommendation at this time you may submit them at a later date to the email listed below.
