INTERNSHIPS

Imagination Stage hires a select number of unpaid interns each semester.

Imagination Stage is committed to diversity both on stage and off stage and we strongly encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply.   

Tasks are based on the intern’s strengths and organizational needs and may include:

 

  • Assisting with mailings

  • Filing

  • Data Entry

  • Creating supplies for classes

  • Working in the Box Office or Just Imagine! Gift Shop

 

CRITERIA
Those interested in applying to intern must meet the following criteria

  • Be at least 15 years old

  • Completing the internship for school credit

  • Able to work over the course of a full semester (or full Summer holiday)


SCHEDULE

Must commit to a minimum of two hours per week.


HOUSING

Imagination Stage does not provide housing for interns at this time.

II. COVER LETTER

To be submitted with your online application (Section II), you must submit a cover letter stating  your interest in theatre and what you would like to learn from this internship with Imagination Stage.

 

III. RESUME OR LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

A resume or letter of recommendation must be submitted. While it is helpful if you are able to submit your resume or letter of recommendation when you submit your online application & cover letter,  if you are unable to submit your resume or letter of recommendation at this time you may submit them at a later date to the email listed below.

Imagination Stage is a non-profit Theatre for Young Audiences located in Bethesda, Maryland. Imagination Stage empowers all young people to discover their voice and identity through performing arts education and professional theatre.

 

Imagination Stage seeks a Special Events Intern to assist our Special Events Associate and Development Team during the Fall 2017 Semester. The Special Events intern will develop practical administrative skills by assisting the Special Events Associate in the preparation and execution of all fall and winter fundraising events. These events will include two Opening Night Performances, The Board of Trustees Kick-Off Meeting, Gala Host Committee Meetings/Events, and The 2017 Annual Gala. The Special Events intern will assist in the preparation of event related email communications, sponsorship information, printed invitations, programs and other event materials. They will learn to work with our database and excel spreadsheets to pull invitation lists, record RSVPs and attendance at events, as well as track event sponsors and donations. The Special Events Intern will also have the opportunity to help with the planning and execution of the events by attending planning meetings, corresponding with vendors, and coordinating staffing needs. They will also assist the Special Event Associate in managing the Host Committee, including assisting with preparing meeting materials, planning Host Committee events, and other regular communications. This individual should be self-motivated, detailed oriented, a problem solver, and flexible in many situations.

 

Interns at Imagination Stage must be at least 15 years old, be completing the internship for credit, and be able to commit to the full Fall semester. Student Internships at Imagination Stage are unpaid. Scheduling for this internship is flexible. Imagination Stage does not provide housing for interns at this time.
