Community Conversation: Supporting Immigrant Youth in School

Join us on October 6 for a free, virtual discussion examining how educators, administrators and community members can best support new immigrant youth in schools. We will feature scenes from our filmed play, Óyeme, the beautiful by Miriam Gonzales to open the conversation. As we discuss possible reforms, we will also consider how the arts can play a role in providing youth with appropriate interventions.

The conversation will be led by Antonio Tijerino, President & CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. Featured panelists include Luis Cardona, Administrator of Positive Youth Development of  the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, and Olivia Dougherty, English Teacher at International Academy at Cardozo Education Campus.
