ACCESSIBILITY

SPACES
Our building, theatres, and classrooms are designed to be accessible. This includes accessible water fountains, restrooms and an automatic door at our main entrance on Auburn Avenue.

Our Lerner Family Theatre features accessible seating on a limited basis (with or without the option of transfer), and with the option for companion seating.

Our Reeve Studio Theatre offers floor level seating with the option for companion seating. When reserving tickets, please identify any special seating needs to our Patron Services Staff.

PARKING

Accessible parking is available in the public parking garage adjacent to the theatre (metered M–F).

ASL-INTERPRETED

Select performances of our Lerner Family Theatre and My First Imagination Stage early childhood season are interpreted in American Sign Language. Selected student ensemble performances are also interpreted. Please see information on specific shows for scheduled ASL interpreted performances. We strongly recommend that when purchasing tickets you identify that you will be utilizing ASL interpretation in order to be seated accordingly. Please note that our Patron Services Staff is trained to receive calls through relay and VRS.

SENSORY-FRIENDLY

Select productions within our Lerner Family Theatre Season feature a Sensory-Friendly performance designed to be more accessible to individuals who benefit from sensory support, have sensitivities and/or autism. Our Sensory-Friendly performances aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment where families can simply relax and be who they are. Tickets to Sensory-Friendly Performances are $12-$25 and 100% refundable up until the show begins.

ADAPTATIONS FOR A SENSORY-FRIENDLY PERFORMANCE

  • A pre-visit social story, video, and other preparatory materials for parents and children explaining what to expect
  • Glow sticks raised when a surprise will happen on stage
  • Reduction of the sound level and bright stage lighting
  • Low lighting in the theatre so patrons can easily move around or exit the theatre
  • Limited crowds and “seating holes” to allow space between families
  • Designated spaces for those who need a quieter area to take a break
  • Allowance for the use of tablets and smartphones for communication

ASSISTIVE LISTENING DEVICES

Assistive Listening Devices are available for patrons who need additional amplification in our Lerner Theatre space. Please visit Patron Services or speak with the House Manager prior to curtain to obtain a device. Please note that at this time this service is only available for selected performances where sound amplification is used. Please check with our Patron Services Staff when reserving your tickets for further information.

LARGE PRINT

Programs are available in Large Print. Please see a member of our House Staff upon arrival to request one.
