Glory. Romance. Power. What does the life you’ve always dreamed of really look like? Pippin sets out on the never-ending quest of finding his place in the world. Seeking fulfillment from the havoc of the battlefield, to the quiet life of the country, Pippin slowly realizes the most extraordinary moments in life are found in the mundane – and that nothing is exactly what we expect it to be. With the timeless and award-winning score from Stephen Schwartz, and a new concept emphasizing ensemble-based storytelling, the IStage Performance Ensemble tackles one of Broadways greatest coming-of-age stories with freshness and zeal. The story of a lonely man who is revived by a visit from a red balloon is reminiscent of the silent films of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. The playwright has imagined the man as an older version of the boy in the movie The Red Balloon, now grown up and grown old, having forgotten his youthful adventure. The red balloon returns to rescue its boy!
