Arts for All! Children's Festival is a FREE, fun, hands-on celebration of performing and visual arts especially for children ages 1-8 on October 21 from 10:00-1:00. It will be held both indoors and outdoors at Imagination Stage, and features workshops and activities by several DMV arts organizations, plus face painting, chalk art, and food trucks. ASL interpretation available for all workshops and performances.

A Scene from The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show | The Annette M. and Theodore N. Lerner Family Theatre

Using beautiful, larger-than-life puppets and original music, the beloved tale of  "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" jumps breathtakingly from the page to the stage. ASL-interpreted; one performance in Spanish.

ASL-Theatre Workshop by Visionaries of the Creative Arts  | Studio 1

Engage in fun, interactive theatre activities and games using American Sign Language (ASL), body language, and gestures. This is open to all--no ASL experience is necessary! Deaf, Hard of Hearing, hearing, etc., all are welcome! Explore these physical, rather than verbal, ways of self-expression!

Best for ages 5+

 

Who are Visionaries of the Creative Arts? Visionaries of the Creative Arts’ mission is to present a visionary platform for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BlPOC) artists to create, collaborate, and showcase their culturally distinctive works through various forms of artistic and linguistic expressions.

 

Creative Drama Class by Imagination Stage | Studio 2

Join Imagination Stage’s Education team as we step into the Enchanted Forest! This magical adventure invites children to explore their imagination, creativity, and self-expression. Through interactive storytelling and play, children embark on a journey through a whimsical forest filled with fairies, elves, and giants!

Salsa Class by Salsa with Silvia | Studio 3

Get ready for a toe-tapping, hip-swinging adventure into the world of salsa dancing! Our short, introductory salsa class promises a whirlwind of rhythm, laughter, and learning.

Best for ages 6+

Who is Salsa With Silvia? The Salsa With Silvia Dance Studio, widely regarded as the No. 1 Latin Dance Studio in the DMV, creates a community where you can meet new friends, learn how to dance, and have fun practicing your moves in a patient, welcoming environment.

 

Poetry Workshop by DC Scores | Studio 4

Learn about poetic devices and write a poem using your name! We’ll begin with a “getting to know you” activity, followed by a short lesson on imagery. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created a unique poem that’s all about you.

Who is DC SCORES? DC SCORES is a nonprofit organization providing free after-school programming of soccer, poetry, and service learning to elementary and middle schools throughout the district. Our goal is to create neighborhood teams that give kids the confidence and skills to succeed on the playing field, in the classroom, and in life.

 

Sensory Friendly Room | Studio 5

Do you need a quiet space with soft lighting or need to get some wigglies out? Look no further than the sensory friendly room! Check out our stations with calming fidgets, coloring pages, allergy-free play-dough (no gluten), and floor mats.
