The Imagination Stage 2024-2025 season will include two productions by the Imagination Stage Performance Ensemble (ISPE), featuring a mix of middle and high school students performing on our Lerner stage. We are seeking capable deckhands with strong experience working with teens to fill the Deck Captain position for each of these productions. Job expectations and responsibilities include:
- Preset all scenic and props elements before each performance. Complete any scenic and prop changes throughout the performance in support of the show. Reset all scenery and props after the performance
- Maintain run paperwork that includes preset, preshow, run of show, and post show. Work during the run to keep this paperwork current
- Sweeps and Mop the Stage prior to rehearsals and performances
- Maintain a safe working environment backstage and in the shop area, including ensuring careful treatment of the scenery by actors
- Encourage and model professional behavior backstage, ensure actors are adhering to guidelines of backstage etiquette
- Assist actors with finding scenery, props, and costume pieces before entering the stage
- Communicate any issues backstage with Stage Manager
- Maintain and repair scenery and props as necessary
- Perform small paint touch ups as necessary
- Reapply mic tape for actors as necessary
The ISPE performance dates are as follows:
ISPE Fall (Title TBD)
- Performances: January 10-12, 2025
ISPE Winter (Title TBD)
- Performances: March 21-23, 2025
Compensation is $22/hr.
