Bilingual Teaching Artists Needed for Arts Residencies

Category
Part Time

Imagination Stage is seeking bilingual teaching artists comfortable teaching teens basic theatre skills with a goal of trauma informed healing. These instructors work offsite at different schools with newcomer students from different countries. They implement lessons that utilize storytelling and community building to provide the students a way to express their emotions, build relationships with fellow group members, tell their stories, and understand that, however dire their circumstances, they are not alone.

Teaching artists work closely with the Theatre for Change Coordinator to train, lesson plan, teach, problem solve and collect data to improve the program. This is a once a week, 8-10 week commitment starting in the fall/late October and again in the Spring. Compensation is $60 per teaching hour. We will contact you directly to set up an interview.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak English and Spanish
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Creative Drama, Music, Movement, and/or Visual Arts experience preferred

Imagination stage celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that values members of our whole community. We strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
