On May 9, 2003, Imagination Stage moved from two small, compromised spaces into our beautiful home on Auburn Avenue.
Upcoming Show: IN THE YEAR OF THE BOAR AND JACKIE ROBINSON
We are thrilled to announce that this October, Imagination Stage will present a special limited engagement of In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson. Adapted by Mark Branner from Bette Bao Lord’s award-winning novel, the play is the touching story of a young girl and her family moving from China to the United States in 1947. Told through humor, language and a rich multimedia staging, the play celebrates the bravery and sacrifice of those who bring new perspectives to our country.
It runs from October 15-22 (1:30 and 4:00 pm shows on weekends,10:45 am shows on weekdays); tickets go on sale on September 6. The play comes to us from our friends at the Honolulu Theatre for Youth (HTY) and is directed by Eric Johnson. After its launch at IStage, the production will tour the eastern US. We can’t wait to say “aloha!” to the talented company from HTY. Join us for this special event!
