Dear Imagination Stage Families,

The doors to our building on Auburn Avenue are shut.  Our Scene and Costume Shops are closed.   And we are sorely missing our daily interaction with our audiences, our students, and the school children in our residencies in Maryland and DC.

But out-of-sight does not mean out-of-mind!  We are committed to keeping our arts community connected. Our educators and artists are thinking of you, and showing their love by transforming our theatre programs into virtual experiences for you to enjoy at home.  While it can feel dismal to be stuck indoors, the Imagination Stage “family” can and MUST stay together.  We can all be happier and healthier by having on-line gatherings, participating in arts rich activities, and watching Imagination Stage content that is both fun and educational on line.

Each week we are distributing new videos, weekly challenges, try-at-home improv games, and some online meet-ups for those enrolled in our classes.  Details are posted weekly on social media (don’t forget to follow us!) but you can also go to https://imaginationstage.org/blog/  Try out a hip hop dance video inspired by Zomo the Rabbit, or see if you and your family can make a 3-minute video using prompts created by our Artistic Team each week. And best of all, it’s all free.

Let’s get together virtually right away.  And please know that we can’t wait to re-open our real doors to you soon.

Sincerely,

Janet Stanford

Founding Artistic Director
