Accessibility
Accessibility at Imagination Stage
Imagination Stage endeavors to create an inclusive and welcoming environment and equitable access to all artistic and educational programming for students, staff, patrons, professional artists and visitors of all abilities.
Our building, theatres, and classrooms are fully accessible. Accessible parking is available in the public parking garage adjacent to the theatre (metered M – F). There is an automatic door at our main entrance on Auburn Avenue, and accessible water fountains, restrooms, and payphones are available. Our Lerner theatre features accessible seating on a limited basis (with or without the option of transfer), and with the option for companion seating. Our Reeve Studio Theatre offers floor level seating with the option for companion seating. We strongly recommend that when reserving tickets you identify any special seating needs to our Box Office Staff.
Assistive Listening Devices are available for patrons who need additional amplification in our Lerner Theatre space. Please visit the box office or speak with the House Manager prior to curtain to obtain a device. Please note that at this time this service is only available for selected performances where sound amplification is used. Please check with our Box Office Staff when reserving your tickets for further information.
Selected performances of our season productions are interpreted in American Sign Language. Selected student ensemble performances are also interpreted. Please see information on specific shows for scheduled ASL interpreted performances. We strongly recommend that when purchasing tickets you identify that you will be utilizing ASL interpretation in order to be seated accordingly. Please note that our Box Office Staff is trained to receive calls through relay.
Programs are available in Large Print. Please see a member of our House staff upon arrival to request one.
Education Programs
Imagination Stage encourages children of all abilities to discover and develop their full potential through the performing arts. Imagination Stage is a National Affiliate of Kids Included Together.
We offer:
• Theatre arts classes designed specifically for the needs of students with cognitive, language, gross motor, or developmental disabilities
• Theatre arts classes designed specifically for the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• Inclusion support for children of all abilities
Imagination Stage staff members work with students and their caregivers to identify and provide the most successful scenario for each student. All placements provide children a safe and welcoming environment to develop and enhance language, gross motor, developmental, cognitive, social and life-learning skills.
